Inevitable end

At first glance, the installation recalls remnants of last night’s New Year’s Party – a white balloon cheerfully  Hovering over a puddle of black water. A closer glance reveals a reflection in the bleak  puddle. The same white balloon popped and deflated, is immortalized in the opposite image.

The installation deals with elements of temporality, the fleeting versus the terminal and the inevitability of death we all face.

The work is a combination of epoxy resin pool and photographic image. Attached to a real size helium-filled balloon. Each day the balloon on the end of the string needs to be replaced.
